{light bulb}

I have always been a homebody. Always. And, that's fine, but sometimes it leaves me, well, alone, lonely, whatever you want to call it.

After last night's dinner, Liz came up to me and said some kind words, and I let her know that I just haven't been doing that great. She said something brilliant. She said, "we need to do something to make you happy." Common sense works every time. So, I got to thinking. I'm a homebody, and that is just who I am. So, what can I do to interact with these great women some more? (here comes the light bulb)

The answer: SUMMER SISTERS SUCCULENT FRIDAYS

What is that you ask? That is an open invitation to come to my terrace after work on Fridays and drink wine (or sangria or MOE JEE TOES or whatever). We can eat if we feel like it, knit, give manicures, play WII, play Balderdash, ANYTHING.

So, every Friday, there is an invitation to come by after work and unwind and giggle and drink wine (and eat). Just a couple hours of girl and wine time.

"Times are tough Tina" (someone name that movie!) Instead of going to happy hour, we'll have our own and we'll save money. If it rains, who cares! I have the biggest damn umbrella for the terrace and if it rains sideways, we move inside. You can bring your little ones as long as they don't drink my wine or eat my dog or cats.

THE RULES:

1) no foul language
2) no overindulging
3) no talking about others
4) DON'T BELIEVE THE RULES! :)

Really, the only rule is not to look at my messy home on the way to the terrace. The polish cleaning lady was horrified that I'm polish and such a slob. She only comes every 3 weeks, so 3 out of 4 weeks, hide your eyes.

Good news, I live in the South Loop... close to people's works. The red line "L" has moved the Harrison stop to literally right outside my garage door.

And ladies... I have a gripe. NO ONE POST COMMENTS ON THE BLOG. C'MON, GET POSTING!

  1. I have a few questions/comments:
    1. Does Natalie WANT or NOT want any comments posted?
    2. Why the HECK is Natalie in accounting and NOT writing for a "juicy" magazine or paper or on a talk show?!
    3. This blog rocks
    4. Who's in for drinks after work on Natalie's terrace for the FIRST official Summer Sister Friday?!
    5. How early can Natalie be home to let us come by and get our drink on?

  3. I think this is a fantastic idea!!!

You had me sold when you said the little ones are welcomed.

However, you know this will crush my hubby- so maybe some fridays we can have SO's????

In addition, if you all ever wanted to take a journey you are always welcomed to the burbs!! Yes I know it is far, but after drinking, jumping on the trampoline, and cooking up s'mores we can pitch some tents and sleep under the stars!!!! Just a thought.
